TOURISTS THROWN OFF TOP OF BUILDING!!
La Paz, Bolivia - In the search for Great Tourism Attractions,
Travelers and Thrill Seekers Now Told,
“Go Jump off a 50 Meter Building!”
AP - La Paz, Bolivia / Author: Sir Jumps Alot
In the search for the ultimate rush, I found myself in La Paz, Bolivia, starring at The Wall. This is not something I would normally do but this wall is different.
Hotel Presidente, the highest 5 star hotel in the world, sits at 3600 m. and their monstrous, 17 story, 50 meter wall is now the sight for what is quickly becoming one of the world's most sought after adventures.
Travelers and locals alike flock to see if they've got what it takes to take the giant plunge, using the help of Urban Rush, the world's leading edge in rope adventures.

INSIDE
So I enter Hotel Presidente, follow the signs up to the very top floor, and am awed by the view. From here you can see all of La Paz. I look down at what I'm going to do, and quickly ask where the bathroom is!
Another adventurer I meet outside the door can see my unease. He explains that he's just done it and, "There's nothing to it! Just listen to the guides and enjoy. The feeling once you've reached the bottom is incredible! And then he says, “You have to try it face first.”
Pep talked and ready, I come back up the stairs. The guides get me geared out in the best climbing equipment and make sure everything is on correctly.
They give me extensive instructions and even the opportunity to practice on a small wall they've set up. We’re ready for the rush of our lives!
A more experienced member of the group, who's rented a helmet cam from Urban Rush goes first. We look down at him as his small steps turn into giant leaps, like Spiderman, he reaches the bottom platform and the experienced guide helping him. Did I mention, he went face first, using a freestyle form of rope work called Rap Jumping?

His girlfriend's up next and she's inexperienced so she goes down the normal, butt first, way. The guide walks her through the steps we've been practicing and he explains that all the safety measurements are in place, assuring that nothing can happen on her way down.
Slow at first, with the help of her English speaking guide she builds up confidence and makes it look easy as she gets down to celebrate with her boyfriend. As my turn arrives they're already back up at the top and booking another drop!
I walk up to the guide who straps me in and does a second check of my gear. I take one last breath as my guide lowers me down to position and talks me through the steps. I take my first step down, then a bigger one, then a jump, then I'm off, and it feels like....You'll just have to come by and check it out yourself!
After my jump I tried it face first and the other traveler was right, you have to try it face first! Then I just hung out enjoying the view with a cold beer in the Hotel's great restaurant and thought of how great it will be to show off my souvenir pre-stained underwear and new Urban Rush t-shirt to all my envious friends back home.

Drop Styles.–You can do down multiple ways! Which is why the multiple drop deal is so great! Try the traditional seated style of rappel/abseil, great for beginners, then try the adrenaline junkies dream drop by going face forward in a style called Rap Jumping! This is one of the only places in the world you can do this! So don´t miss out.
Free fall.-The ULTIMATE RUSH! Put your hands out. Let your guides control your brakes as you do a 15 meter free fall down to them This is optional, but unmissable!
Landing Zone.-You are not alone! Apart from the guide at the top who has a second line, you´ve also got a 3rd brake who is your guide at the bottom! He has complete control over your drop speed as well, just in case anything happens.
Once is Never Enough! – Once you get to the bottom, you´ll definitely want to be doing it again! We give special deals for multiple runs! Or if you´re tuckered out, go back up to cheer on your friends or for a beer in the Hotel´s beautiful restaurant with La Paz´s best view!
